RC4 LumenDimPixMicro Wireless Pixel LED Driver (External Antenna Version)

The RC4 LumenDimPixMicro is an ultra-compact wireless DMX pixel driver designed for installations where space is extremely limited, making it ideal for costumes, compact props, miniatures and discreet scenic applications.

This version features an external antenna connection via a compact u.fl connector, providing improved antenna placement flexibility and extended wireless performance when required.

Despite its miniature size, the LumenDimPixMicro delivers the same advanced functionality as the award-winning LumenDimPix, including patented RC4 Custom Pixel Profiles™, wireless CRMX control, RC4 ColorMatch™, and broad pixel protocol compatibility.

Each External LumenDimPixMicro includes one 2.4GHz u.fl antenna assembly.

Overview

Built around the LumenRadio CRMX / CRMX2 wireless platform, the RC4 LumenDimPixMicro enables designers to create sophisticated pixel-based lighting effects quickly and efficiently while dramatically reducing DMX channel requirements.

The driver supports two independent pixel strings of up to 500 pixels each, allowing control of up to 1000 pixels from within a single DMX universe using as few as 3 DMX channels through RC4’s patented Custom Pixel Profiles™ technology.

The compact unenclosed circuit-board format allows installation in spaces where traditional pixel drivers are simply too large.

RC4 Custom Pixel Profiles™

Traditional pixel mapping consumes extremely large numbers of DMX channels, often requiring multiple universes and complex programming systems.

RC4 Custom Pixel Profiles™ reduce DMX channel requirements dramatically by moving keyframe generation and pattern duplication directly into the pixel driver itself.

This allows designers to create animated effects, repeating patterns, segmented tape emulation and highly customised looks while using far fewer console channels and without relying on media servers or advanced pixel processors.

Pixel Protocol Compatibility

The LumenDimPixMicro supports a wide range of popular professional and consumer pixel protocols, making it exceptionally versatile for custom lighting applications.

RC4 ColorMatch™

Pixel strings from different manufacturers frequently display variations in colour balance and calibration. RC4 ColorMatch™ allows individual adjustment of each string to ensure consistent colour reproduction across an installation.

Pixel colour order correction is also handled internally by the driver, allowing multiple string types to operate together seamlessly from the same DMX source without visible colour inconsistencies.

Connectivity & Installation

The LumenDimPixMicro includes a standard RC4 mini-plug DMX port which can operate as either a wired DMX input or wireless DMX output.

Multiple connection options are available depending on installation requirements:

• Tyco/Amp MTA-100 6-pin connector
• Mini screw terminal option
• Direct solder connection option for maximum compactness

Extensive RDM support is available in both wired and wireless operation when used with compatible CRMX transmitters.

Wireless Performance

All RC4 LumenDimPixMicro units include a genuine LumenRadio TiMo CRMX2 radio module, ensuring compatibility with CRMX2, CRMX Classic, and Wireless Solution transmitters operating in G3, G4, G4S and G5 modes.

The external u.fl antenna connection allows improved antenna positioning and the potential for enhanced wireless performance compared with fully integrated antenna designs.

A version with an integrated onboard chip antenna is also available for applications where absolute minimum size is required.
