RC4 LumenDimPix Wireless Pixel LED Driver

The RC4 LumenDimPix is an ultra-compact wireless DMX pixel driver designed for professional pixel LED control on the CRMX wireless platform. Featuring patented RC4 Custom Pixel Profiles™, it enables designers to create stunning animated effects while dramatically reducing the number of DMX channels required.

Capable of controlling up to two separate pixel strings with a combined total of 1000 pixels, the LumenDimPix delivers advanced pixel control without the need for complex multi-universe consoles, media servers, or extensive cabling.

Each LumenDimPix includes one 1dBi antenna and a set of Phoenix connectors.

Overview

Built around the LumenRadio CRMX / CRMX2 wireless platform, the RC4 LumenDimPix provides reliable wireless DMX control for pixel LED installations in theatre, film, live events, scenic applications, props and costumes.

The device can independently control two pixel strings of up to 500 pixels each — the equivalent of approximately 3000 DMX channels — while using as few as 3 DMX channels within a single universe through the use of RC4’s patented Custom Pixel Profiles™ technology.

RC4 Custom Pixel Profiles™

Traditional pixel mapping rapidly consumes DMX channels, with a single DMX universe capable of controlling only 170 RGB pixels using conventional methods.

RC4 Custom Pixel Profiles™ solve this problem by moving pattern generation and channel duplication directly into the pixel driver itself. Using keyframe-based control, designers can create repeating effects, gradients, segmented tape emulation, and animated looks while using far fewer DMX channels.

This allows complex and visually rich pixel installations to operate from a single DMX universe without the need for media servers or advanced multi-universe control systems.

Pixel Protocol Compatibility

The LumenDimPix is designed to support a wide range of professional and consumer pixel LED protocols, making it one of the most versatile wireless pixel drivers available.

RC4 ColorMatch™

Pixel strings from different manufacturers often vary in colour balance and LED calibration. RC4 ColorMatch™ allows each string to be individually colour corrected and white-balanced directly within the driver.

Pixel colour order can also be corrected internally, allowing multiple string types and manufacturers to operate together seamlessly from the same DMX data source without inconsistent colour reproduction.

Connectivity

The onboard RC4 mini-plug DMX port supports both DMX input and output operation and is compatible with a range of RC4 adaptors, including 3-pin and 5-pin XLR connectors.

Wired DMX control and extensive RDM support are available when operating in wired mode.

Phoenix connectors are used for power and pixel string connections, providing secure and reliable installation.

Wireless Performance

All RC4 LumenDimPix devices include a genuine LumenRadio TiMo CRMX2 radio module, providing compatibility with CRMX2, CRMX Classic, and Wireless Solution transmitters operating in G3, G4, G4S and G5 modes.

The external RP-SMA antenna provides a nominal wireless range of approximately 100m, with extended range possible using directional or high-gain antennas.
